The Wallabies renaissance under new coach Michael Cheika was ended on the weekend at the hands of France.
Despite smashing the French when they came to Australia earlier in the year, it was a different case for all involved in front of a huge crowd in Paris.
With the quest for an unbeaten Spring Tour on the line the Wallabies got off to a poor start conceding the first try of the game within minutes of the kick-off and despite a few positive glimpses they struggled to gain enough momentum to get in front.
After the match Cheika blamed his team’s regular errors and turn overs for the three-point loss.
Even though they played poorly, the visitors came within reach of a late upset win thanks to a try from Rob Simmons.
But it was a case of to little, to late as the French held on for a memorable win at home.
The Wallabies will now shift their focus to their upcoming clash with Ireland, with Cheika sure to have his men primed for the match.
