Nathan Coulter-Nile’s dreams of making his test debut on Boxing Day have been squashed after the paceman suffered an injury in the Perth Scorchers loss to the Adelaide Strikers.
After misfielding a ball Coulter-Nile slipped and fell attempting retrieve the ball and landed awkwardly and as a result he dislocated his shoulder in the process.
The Scorchers later confirmed that his shoulder had been put back in but the extent of the damage will not be known until results of his scans come back later today.
His spot in the 13-man squad for Boxing Day has been taken by Victorian paceman Scott Boland who was also on standby for the first test.
To rub further salt into the Scorchers wounds they were beaten by the Strikers in their season opener thanks to great performances by Strikers imports Adil Rashid and Mahela Jayawardena.
